MRS. MONTES

Hello! My name is Stephanie Montes and I am very happy to have your child in my second grade class this year.  I’d like to begin by telling you a bit about myself. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership.  I have worked in the education field for fifteen years.  I have recently moved to Midland from Houston, Texas.  I have been married for 13 years and I have two children.  My son Aidan will be in 3^rd Grade and my daughter Alexandria will be in 6^th Grade.  In my spare time I love to run and crossfit about five days a week.  I love to teach and I am excited about the upcoming school year!

We have a great year ahead of us! We will be reviewing, learning new skills, and of course having tons of fun along the way!  Second grade is an exciting year filled with new independence and increasing abilities.  It is a year where first grade concepts are reinforced and built upon.  Students will begin to read and write to learn instead of learning to read and write.

I strongly believe that parent involvement is extremely important to be successful in the classroom.
